Sri Siva Muneeswarar Alayam, a temple with over 90 years of rich history is located within the vicinity of the world famous Batu Caves. Formerly known as Sri Muniandy Alayam, was originally built as a hut in early 1930. The temple has now evolved into a full Saivite temple and is known as Sri Siva Muneeswarar Alayam with Moolavar Sri Gangathereswarar and Thayaar Sri Mangalaambigai as the main deity.

The other deities worshipped at the temple are Sri Ganapathy, Sri Murugan with his consorts Valli and Deivanai, Sri Maha Mariamman, Sri Sandigeswarar, Sri Bairavar, Sri Thatchanamoorthy and Navagrahas. The new temple which had undergone its first Holy Consecration Ceremony (Maha Kumbabishegam) on 8th June 2006 is equipped with a multi purpose hall which is now being used to carry out weddings, engagements, meetings, Bharatha Naatiyam classes, Yoga classes, and other cultural programs.

In July 2009, our temple was appointed as Assistant Registrar of Weddings providing greater convenience for the local community to carry out their wedding registration.

Besides being an ideal worship place for Saivite devotees, the temple also carries out various social activities such as providing aid to needy people and conducting religious seminars and workshops for students.
